What is worth seeing in Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol, i.e. the Coast of the Sun, is a name that obliges. It is not without reason that this region of Spain is one of the most frequently visited locations in Europe, because the sun shines here over 320 days a year!


The coast stretching between Gibraltar and Cape Cabo de Gata is famous for its beautiful beaches and golf courses, and the proximity of the mountain range also makes the Costa del Sol an ideal place for trekking.


MALAGA

Moreover, we must not forget about the capital of the Costa del Sol - Malaga, the city where Pablo Picasso was born. The most important monuments of Malaga are located in the so-called old town. Centro historio and include: the Cathedral, Gibraflaro Castle, Alcazaba and the Roman Theater.

While in Malaga, it is also worth visiting the slightly further districts of El Palo and Pedregalejo, which are the cradle of chiringuitos, where you can eat fresh fish, paela and the famous sardines!


MARBELLA

Another city worth seeing is Marbella. A beautiful old town with the main attraction, i.e. Plaza de los naranjos (orange square), where we can eat lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants located among orange trees, white tenement houses and blue flowerpots.

Next, it is worth going for a walk along the sea in Puerto Deportivo or Puento Romano.

For sunbathing, it is worth going to the eastern part of Marbella (Elvira and El Rosario districts), because there you will find wide beaches.


PUERTO BANUS

It is the cradle of luxury, a port with luxury yachts and designer boutiques of global brands such as Gucci, Luis Vuitton and Prada.


ESTEPON

Estepona is one of the most family-friendly destinations in Spain. Many of the cobblestone streets in the whitewashed old town are car-free, making it safe to explore the city on foot. The city has 17 highway-wide beaches along its 21-kilometer coastline.
